The Mala Route: a creepy name for a thrilling route. But don't worry! The Mala Route walk is an exciting journey through the history and geology of the Val di Scalve, easily accessible to the whole family, including children.
The name originates from the narrow and rugged passages, literally dug into the rock to connect the Scalve Valley to the Val Camonica, uniting the villages of Dezzo and Angolo Terme.
The current road route of the Provincial SP294 of Val di Scalve runs mostly through tunnels, but already from the road you can sense the rugged beauty and sense of vertigo of these places. Sensations that are confirmed as soon as you park your car at the former cantoniera house.
Here begins the pedestrian path, about one kilometer long, completely renovated and secured by a recent recovery project, aimed at improving the stretch of road dating back to 1862, which was already considered one of the most panoramic and spectacular mountain arteries in Europe.
The walk then unfolds, in complete safety, through a wild landscape, overlooking gorges, rocky walls and impressive chasms, eroded by the Dezzo stream over more than 5 million years. A real walk in history, as well as in nature.
To finish off in style, you can't miss four steps on the panoramic balcony over 5 meters long, cantilevered and transparent, which juts out over the spectacular gorge of the Dezzo stream. A thrill guaranteed for everyone, young and old.
